Hi, I'm Kaela!

I'm a Registered Dietitian, a Certified Personal Trainer, and the heart behind Beautifully Balanced Nutrition.

My story starts in a small town in Ohio, where I grew up as a competitive gymnast — a world that taught me discipline, drive, and a deep appreciation for what my body could do. But like a lot of athletes, the transition out of that world was its own challenge. It was during my college years that I really began to struggle with my relationship with food and my body — and not long after, being diagnosed with chronic illness added a whole new layer to that journey. In 2018, I moved to Charleston, and it's here that both my career and my own healing really took root.

Because the truth is, the way I practice today was shaped by everything I've lived through.

I know what it's like to feel disconnected from your body — to feel like food controls you instead of nourishes you. Healing my own relationship with food showed me how much lighter and freer life feels on the other side of that struggle, and it's why I'm so passionate about being a safe, judgment-free space for other women to heal theirs.

I also know what it's like to sit across from doctor after doctor, searching for answers. Living with POTS and MCAS taught me firsthand how isolating chronic illness can be, and how rare — and how powerful — it is to finally feel truly heard. That experience is the reason I care for the whole person in front of me, not just a set of symptoms or numbers.

And I deeply understand the frustration so many women feel with weight and their bodies — the exhaustion of trying everything, the cycles that never seem to stick. My goal is never to shame or restrict, but to help you find an approach that actually fits your life and finally feels sustainable.

Looking back, I can see how God has used every part of my journey — the struggles, the diagnoses, the healing — to shape the heart behind this practice. What once felt like my hardest seasons became the very things that fuel my passion today. I see this work as so much more than a career; it's a way of serving and loving others well, using what I've walked through to help other women feel cared for, supported, and truly seen. I truly believe none of it was wasted.

That's what Beautifully Balanced Nutrition is really about: care that meets you exactly where you are, grounded in evidence, delivered with compassion, and shaped by someone who genuinely understands the journey — because I've walked parts of it too.
